I’m taking a road trip up to Maine starting tomorrow morning to help my cousin move up there from Florida and I’m also going to check out New Hampshire and meet some of the Free Staters there and it got me thinking about something.
Free Staters in NH have been getting elected into local town/county level positions within the government and they’re getting a ton done up there to maximize freedom. They also attend town meetings and let their voices be heard that way too.
What if this were to be done in every state? What do you guys think would happen if we were to stop caring about national politics and care more about local politics? I think that if we were to maximize our efforts on the local level rather than the national level we’d get 10x more done to maximize freedom in our lifetime. Start going to your school board meetings and town/county level meetings and find out whose disgruntled about the same thing you’re disgruntled about and talk to them and form friendships with them and encourage them to do the same thing. If this is repeated over and over again you’d have a pretty sizable group of people that you can call up when some crazy law or ordinance is about to get passed and collectively make your voices heard. You can also get you and those people into local government positions and start chipping away at any unconstitutional or anti-freedom laws and even nullify bad laws that are imposed from the federal government. This is essentially how it was done during the first revolution. We need to stop playing these compromise games and draw our line in the sand and say no more! Step over the line and you’re done!
Also, remember that Worcester Massachusetts declared independence from Great Britain before the rest of the colonies did and they also kicked out all of the torries and either sent them to Boston or back to Britain. This is how we’re gonna win this fight is on the local level not the national level.
